My Story

I learned the hard way..

My mosaic journey started 25 years ago with an offcut of board and some old tiles....and it was baaad!

Wrong board choice, wrong glue, poor tile cutting and I even tried to paint over the ceramic tiles to achieve the right colours! Needless to say, I lost interest in that project and it got thrown into the dumpster!

But I learned what NOT to do and the next project was better. So much better that it got me hooked.

GLUES

After choosing the substrate, selecting the right glue is critical for a long-lasting mosaics.

Not all glues work well on all substrates. And not all glues will last the duration outdoors, so it is important to know the best types of glues for your projects before you start.

A bad glue choice will lead to tiles falling off in a month, or a year.

Let's talk thinset, silicone, pva, contact adhesives....each of these types of glue have a place in making mosaic, but learning when to use them is important.
